COAST GUARD SEARCHES FOR OVERDUE BOATERS

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A Coast Guard C-130 rescue airplane from Air Station Clearwater is searching for the Larson family onboard the pleasure craft "Sea Note" between Marathon Keys and Cape Coral, Fla.

A call was received Thursday at 8:42 p.m. by Station Fort Myers Beach reporting that the 24-foot vessel was overdue at its moorings in Cape Coral.

Edward and Tina Larson and three children were said to have left Banana Bay at 6:45 a.m. Thursday onboard the boat and have not yet reached their destination.

The Coast Guard is unable to launch a search with rescue boats due to the weather.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the Larson family please contact the Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg Command Center at 727-824-7506.
