4 OVERDUE BOATERS LOCATED YANKEETOWN, Fla. - The two adults and two children Coast Guard Station Yankeetown were looking for were located disabled by a Good Samaritan and were towed to a pier in the Waccasassa River. A Levy County police officer was dispatched to the scene to verify the boaters were in good condition after the vessel's owner borrowed a cell phone to call home. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and a Jayhawk helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Fla. aided in the search for the 17-foot Proline boat after the boaters were reported overdue last night. John Hughes, 50, and Tom Bailey, 56, departed the Barge Canal near Yankeetown sometime yesterday with their family friend's children, aged 15 and 11, for a fishing trip. Their fishing destination was unknown. Visibility is believed to have been poor since the origination of the missing boaters' trip.
