| Coast Guard establishes safety zone during Super-Post Panamax crane arrivals to the Port of the |

“The safety zone is necessary to reduce navigational hazards and provide for the safety of vessels and personnel in the area by preventing unnecessary vessel traffic during the Zen Hua 7’s arrival,” said Cmdr. Carlos Torres, Sector San Juan Chief of Preventions. The safety zone will be in effect upon the Zen Hua 7’s transit, beginning at the mouth of the entrance channel (Buoys 1 and 2), to Port of the No vessels are allowed to enter the safety zone without express permission from the Coast Guard Sector San Juan Captain of the Port. The Coast Guard will be enforcing the safety zone with the assistance of Puerto Rico Police Joint Forces of Rapid Action (FURA) and Ponce Municipal Police marine units For further information and updates on the safety zone contact 787-289-2041. Mariners should monitor VHF-FM Channel 22-A for Coast Guard safety zone advisory updates. |
