|
MIAMI -- The crew of a Coast Guard C-130 Hercules fixed-wing aircraft from Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point, Hawaii, evacuated more than 60 Haitian-Americans Sunday from Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The group of Haitian-Americans, which included several infants and toddlers, are U.S. citizens who were in Port-au-Prince when a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck there Tuesday afternoon, affecting millions of people. The C-130 crew transported the group from Port-au-Prince to Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla., with a stop at Naval Air Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, for supplies. |
