MIAMI -The Coast Guard is continuing to provide support to the U.S. Government's humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts in Haiti Sunday.  

The Coast Guard Cutter Oak is is scheduled to arrive in Haiti Sunday with medical supplies capable of restocking ground units in Haiti.

A second HC-130 from Coast Guard Air Station Sacramento, Calif., transported a Department of Health and Human Services Disaster Medical Assistance Team and three surgeons from Providenciales, Turks and Caicos to Port-au-Prince, Haiti Sunday.  The same aircrew evacuated 50 American citizens from Port-au-Prince to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

An HC-130 Hercules aircraft crew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Fla., medically evacuated 70 American citizens from Haiti to Homestead Air Reserve Base in Homestead, Fla., Saturday.

Also on Saturday, an HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater transferred seven Haitian citizens, including one born on the flight deck of the cutter Tahoma Saturday, to the Naval ship USS Carl Vinson for further medical treatment. 

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from the Coast Guard Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron medically evacuated four Haitian citizens to a Haitian hospital Sunday.

As of 6 p.m. Sunday, the Coast Guard has evacuated 662 American citizens from Haiti.

The Coast Guard is working diligently to overcome some of the inherent complexities in this humanitarian relief effort while continuing to find ways to enhance the continued support provided to the U.S. Government's efforts in Haiti. The Coast Guard is dedicating a specialized seaport operations team, comprised of 11 highly qualified personnel, to concentrate on assessing port functionality so that the port of Port-au-Prince may reopen as quickly as possible. This is of critical importance so humanitarian supplies and other important items and personnel can reach those that need it.

• Two HC-130 Hercules fixed-wing aircraft crews from Barber's Point, Hawaii.
• One MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard HITRON based in Jacksonville, Fla., and Coast Guard Air Station Detroit, Mich.
• Two HU-25 Falcon jet crews from Coast Guard Air Station Miami.
• The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Valiant, a 210-foot medium endurance cutter homeported in Miami.
• The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Mohawk, a 270-foot medium endurance cutter homeported in Key West, Fla.
• The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Tahoma, a 270-foot medium endurance cutter homeported in Portsmouth, N.H.
• The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Forward, a 270-foot medium endurance cutter homeported in Portsmouth, Va. 
• The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Oak, a 225-foot seagoing buoy tender homeported in Charleston, S.C.
