COAST GUARD CUTTER LOADS UP ON HUMANITARIAN AID

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -  Media are invited to witness the on-load by the Coast Guard Cutter Venturous of  approximately 40,000 pounds of humanitarian aid being shipped to victims of the recent flood and subsequent famine in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

The loading will begin at the Coast Guard Base in La Puntilla at approximately 9 a.m. tomorrow.

Media will be able to witness the on-load of various food goods and clothing collected from local businesses and members of the community through local churches of Puerto Rico.  Event coordinators and Coast Guard crewmen will be available for interview as well.

Editor's note: Media members are reminded to carry official credentials on them for entrance to the base.
