Coast Guard lifts port condition in Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - The Coast Guard Sector San Juan Captain of the Port, Capt. Eduardo Pino, established port readiness condition four Sunday, for the ports in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico due to the downgrading of Tropical Storm Ana to a tropical depression.

The captain of the port of San Juan removed all hurricane readiness conditions that were imposed in advance of Tropical Storm Ana. With the return to port condition four in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, all marine operations including waterfront facility and vessel transits may occur, which are subject to prudent seamanship and safe work practices.

Port condition four is the normal port condition during hurricane season.
