**Media Advisory** The Armed Forces Military Museum to celebrate Coast Guard's 219th birthday

WHAT:  In conjunction with crewmembers from Coast Guard Station Sand Key, Fla., and Coast Guard       Port Security Unit 307, The Armed Forces Military Museum is celebrating the 219th birthday of the Coast Guard, America's oldest, continuous sea-going service saving more than one million lives since its inception in 1790.  

At the event, Station Sand Key will display a 25-foot Response Boat-Small vessel and PSU 307 will feature a 25-foot Transportable Port Security Boat with twin 175 Hp Evinrude engines and a mounted 50-caliber machine gun.

WHEN: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, August 1.

WHERE:  The Armed Forces Military Museum, located on 34th Way North (North side of SR688/Ulmerton Road) between Belcher Road and Starkey Road.

WHO:  Crewmembers from Station Sand Key, PSU 307 and members from The Armed Forces Military Museum will be available for media interviews.

WHY:  To recognize the Coast Guard’s 219th birthday on August 4, the memorabilia that was donated for display to the museum and to promote community awareness of local Coast Guard presence.
