Coast Guard continues search for 2 overdue Fort Pierce, Fla., boaters

MIAMI - The Coast Guard is continuing the search for two overdue boaters Monday evening who did not return to Black Pearl Boat Ramp in Fort Pierce, Fla., Sunday.

A family member contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Station Fort Pierce around 9:30 p.m. Sunday to report that Vincent Faulkner and Eric Ross, ages and hometowns unknown, departed the Black Pearl Boat Ramp at noon and had yet to return from their fishing trip.

The Coast Guard immediately launched multiple aircraft from Coast Guard Air Station Miami, the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Cormorant and a boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Fort Pierce to search for the missing boaters.

A Coast Guard HC-130 aircraft crew from Air Station Clearwater, Fla., and crews of the Coast Guard Cutters Gannet and Bluefin will remain at the search site, an approximate 1,200 square-mile area, throughout the evening.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Vincent Faulkner or Eric Ross are asked to contact the Coast Guard at 305-415-6800.
