Coast Guard medevacs woman near Anclote Key

TAMPA, Fla. - The Coast Guard performed a medical evacuation of a 28-year-old female from a jet-ski about one mile offshore of Anclote Key, Fla., at about 8 p.m. Saturday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg, Fla., received a call at about 7 p.m. reporting that Kimberly Folk was aboard a jet-ski that collided with an anchored 23-foot vessel amd needed immediate medical attention.

Search and rescue coordinators from Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg, launched an HH-60 Jayhawk rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Fla., and safely hoisted Folk aboard the aircraft.

Folk was taken to Tampa General Hospital at about 8:11 p.m.
