| Coast Guard rescues six people off Ponce De Leon Inlet |
|
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Coast Guard rescued six people from the disabled 38-foot boat Holler Back about 20-miles northeast of Ponce De Leon Inlet, Fla., Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The crew of the Holler Back reportedly lost all electrical power at approximately 1:30 p.m. The Coast Guard was able to pinpoint the location of the distressed crew after it received a signal from the boats emergency position indicating radio beacon more commonly known in the maritime community as an EPIRB. The Coast Guard reminds all boaters, whether a seasoned professional mariner or a leisure boater that having a registered EPIRB on board your boat can save your life in the event of an emergency.
