| Coast Guard hosts media events for Harbor Fest 2009 |
| The Coast Guard is hosting several media availability opportunities during Charleston Harbor Fest 2009. Lists of scheduled events by day are as follows: Thursday: Media are invited to ride into Charleston on the Eagle as it moors downtown. Interested media should R.S.V.P. with Bobby Nash no later than 6 p.m. Wednesday. Media should arrive at Coast Guard Sector Charleston, 196 Tradd Street, no later than 7 a.m. and will return to the passenger terminal downtown at approximately 11:30. Once aboard Eagle, there will be no opportunity to leave the cutter until it moors downtown. Media are invited to get underway aboard a Coast Guard Auxiliary boat to view the Eagle as it enters downtown Charleston. Interested media should R.S.V.P. with Bobby Nash no later than 6 p.m. Wednesday. Very limited space is available. Space will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Media should arrive at Coast Guard Sector Charleston, 196 Tradd Street, no later than 9:30 a.m. and will return back to Coast Guard Sector Charleston at approximately 11:30 a.m. Coast Guard officials will be available for morning shows at Coast Guard Sector Charleston, 196 Tradd Street, to discuss Coast Guard activities during Charleston Harbor Fest to ensure the safety and comfort of local recreational boaters and visiting tall ships. Please contact Bobby Nash to make arrangements. Friday: Media are invited to tour the Coast Guard's mobile operations center located on Ansonborough Field and then get underway with Coast Guard Station Charleston to see maritime safety operations for Harbor Fest 2009. Interest media should R.S.V.P. with Bobby Nash no later than 4 p.m. Thursday. Media should arrive at Ansonborough Field, no later than 9:30 a.m. and will return back to Ansonborough Field at approximately 11:30 a.m. Coast Guard officials will be available for morning shows at Coast Guard Sector Charleston, 196 Tradd Street, to discuss Coast Guard activities during Charleston Harbor Fest to ensure the safety and comfort of local recreational boaters and visiting tall ships. Please contact Bobby Nash to make arrangements. Saturday: Media are invited to attend Eagle’s change of command ceremony where Capt. Joseph Sinnett, a South Carolina native, will transfer command to Capt. Eric Jones. Interested media should R.S.V.P. with Bobby Nash no later than 4 p.m. Friday. Media should arrive at the passenger terminal no later than 8:45 a.m. Very Limited space is available and it will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Coast Guard officials will be available for morning shows at Coast Guard Sector Charleston, 196 Tradd Street, to discuss Coast Guard activities during Charleston Harbor Fest to ensure the safety and comfort of local recreational boaters and visiting tall ships.
