WHO:  Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Thad W. Allen.

 

WHAT:  Discussion on the nation’s maritime safety and security for the 11th Annual Harbor Safety Committee Conferences co-sponsored by the United States Coast Guard, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Tampa Bay Harbor Safety and Security Committee. 

 

WHEN:  Friday, May 29, at 9:15 a.m.

WHY:  The 11th annual Harbor Safety Committee Conference underscores the need for continued vigilance and partnerships to help keep our ports and harbors safe and secure.  The Commandant will be delivering closing remarks from 11:15 to 11:45, but is providing this advance opportunity for news media to discuss the state of the nation’s maritime safety and security and ongoing efforts to enhance the same.
