Coast Guard rescues 4 from capsized vessel

CLEARWATER, Fla. - An HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Fla., rescued four people from the water Tuesday at about 6:20 p.m. after their boat capsized 15 miles west of the Weeki Wachee River, in Weeki Wachee, Fla.                             

The Coast Guard received a relayed 911 call at about 6 p.m. Tuesday reporting that a 23-foot wellcraft boat was rapidly taking on water with four people aboard.  The Coast Guard HH-60 Jayhawk rescue helicopter crew immediately launched, located the four persons in the water and hoisted them to safety. 

Mike Place, Ray Burch, Richard Walton and Jim Lowdergon from New Port Richie, Fla.,  were transferred to awaiting EMS at Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater.  They were reported to be in stable condition.
