 CGC Thetis participates in sinking exercise

ATLANTIC OCEAN – Crew members of the Coast Guard Cutter Thetis clean the 76mm Oto Melara gun after firing 54 rounds at the ex-USS Connolly (DD 975) during a sinking exercise for UNITAS Gold Wednesday April 29, 2009.  UNITAS is a multi-national maritime training exercise conduct maritime training in a joint environment and encourage interoperability between the participating nations. Participants and observers from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Germany, Mexico, Peru, the United States and Uruguay are included in the exercise.
