| Coast Guard finds blue kayak on St. John's river near Mayport |

MAYPORT, Fla. - A blue kayak was discovered on the St. John's River in the vicinity of Mayport by a good Samaritan vessel today at 3:30 p.m.
Shortly after the kayak discovery, a Coast Guard boarding team from Station Mayport conducted a safety inspection of the good Samaritan vessel. At that point the boarding team was notified by the good Samaritans of the kayak discovery. The kayak is now in possession of the Coast Guard.
In addition, a helicopter crew from Naval Station Mayport is conducting an aerial search for any possible persons in the water.
