| Hardeeville native nominated for 2008 Coast Guard enlisted person of the year |

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Petty Officer 1st Class Jomar Dunham, a native of Hardeeville, S.C., stationed at Integrated Support Command Ketchikan-Juneau Detachment, Alaska, was selected as the Maintenance and Logistic Pacific (MLCPAC) Enlisted Person of the Year for 2008.Upon receiving the selection as MLCPAC Enlisted Person of the Year, Dunham was nominated Monday, Feb. 9, allowing him to compete for the Coast Guard Enlisted Person of the Year for 2008. The Enlisted Person of the Year program is designed to recognize enlisted personnel in the pay grades E-2 through E-6. Nominees reflect the Coast Guard's core values of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty. Over the course of last year Dunham has demonstrated an outstanding work ethic and served as a superb role model. As the sole storekeeper in his department he was responsible for all funding, verification, and liquidation of over one million dollars on seven separate accounts he was responsible for. His professionalism and dedication have garnered praise from not only Coast Guard units in Alaska but also from Coast Guard Headquarters. He was also selected as the Enlisted Person of the Year for ISC Ketchikan Juneau Detachment for 2008, and was nominated for the Alaska Coast Guardsman of the Year. The nominees for the 2008 EPOY will be selected in April by Adm. Thad W. Allen, Commandant of the Coast Guard. Jomar is married to Melanie. They have two children Amar, 5 and Aimee, 3.
