 Coast Guard to participate in joint maritime security training for Super Bowl XLIII

Media note:  Media interested in attending the event are requested to arrive no later than 10:15 a.m. and contact Petty Officer Sondra-Kay Kneen at (305) 965-4672. Ride-alongs will be available for the media as well as interviews and opportunities to collect operational footage and b-roll.

WHAT: The Coast Guard, along with other federal and local law-enforcement agencies, will be conducting joint maritime-security training in anticipation of additional security zone enforcement for Super Bowl XLIII.

WHO: Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection, FBI, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Hillsborough and Manatee County Sheriff's Offices, and St. Petersburg and Tampa Police Departments.

WHEN: Thursday, Jan. 15. at 10:30 a.m.

WHERE: Tampa Convention Center
                 333 S. Franklin Street
                 Tampa, Fla.

WHY: To enhance security for the events taking place during Super Bowl XLIII, multiple agencies will establish security zones within the vicinity of Garrison Channel, from Jan. 29 to Feb. 2.
