Coast Guard Locates Missing Divers off Spiegel Grove

MIAMI - The Coast Guard located two missing divers shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday who were reported missing off the Spiegel Grove dive site close to Key Largo, Fla.

The two were reported missing by the charter dive boat Republic VII at approximately 3:20 p.m.

The Coast Guard immediately launched a 33-foot response boat from Station Islamorada, Fla., and a HH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Miami.

The Coast Guard helicopter located the the two people two miles north of their dive site.

Once the people were located, the Coast Guard helicopter directed a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission vessel to the location of the divers.

The two divers were pulled aboard the FWC vessel and reported to be in good health.
