Coast Guard Suspends Search for 49 Missing Haitians MIAMI - The Coast Guard suspended its search for 49 Haitian migrants at 7:05 p.m. today, ending a search that began when two persons were recscued after their home made vessel caught fire and sank with 56 Haitians migrants. The two migrants rescued by the crew of the motor yacht Worldwind Wednesday morning initially reported 54 people on the vessel when it departed Cap-Haitien, Haiti en route Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. U. S. Coast Guard C-130 aircraft, HH-60 helicopters along with the Coast Guard Cutter Valiant, searched more than 1,250 square miles and were able to recover five bodies, but despite the aggressive search and significant number of assets used, no survivors were found. The Cutter Valiant is a 210-foot Medium Endurance Cutter homeported in Miami Beach, Fla. ###
