FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. — Travis Niemi, commercial fisherman, speaks about the importance of his personal protective equipment after being stranded at sea in a life raft for approximately 10 hours because his boat sank after having anchor issues Dec. 28, 2011.
Niemi, an experienced fisherman, believes that ultimately his protective equipment saved his and his shipmates life.

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. — The Coast Guard Cutter Marlin remains moored at Coast Guard Station Fort Myers after transferring two survivors rescued at sea Dec. 28, 2011.
The Marlin is an 87-foot patrol boat primarily focused on recreational boating and fisheries law enforcement.
